Given that New Jersey is the unofficial restaurant capital of the world, it’s no surprise that a show with “Diners” in the title would want to shoot here. But for Edison’s Skylark Diner, it’s a repeat of “Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives.”
The iconic Food Network show will be filmed there this week following a visit they made 14 years ago when the restaurant was still new.
According to MyCentralJersey.com, the show hosted by Guy Fieri spotlighted Skylark in the show’s second season. They now visit some of the restaurants they featured at the start of the show to see how they have changed over the years.
The restaurant will be closed Thursday for filming, but if you had planned to hang around to catch a glimpse of Fieri, you’d still be disappointed: Due to COVID protocols, he won’t be there.
The Skylark, which advertises itself as “not your ordinary diner”, serves an upscale menu (for one dinner) as well as traditional fare. Its official name, according to its website, is the Skylark Fine Diner and Lounge”; yes they have a bar.
No broadcast date for the episode shot this week has been announced.
